Target Information
OTX2는 homeodomain을 포함하는 전사인자(bicoid sub-family)에 속하는 289 아미노산 단백질입니다. 두 가지 알려진 대체 스플라이스 변이가 존재하며, 다른 isoform의 존재 가능성도 배제할 수 없습니다. 이 단백질은 배아줄기세포의 내배엽 분화 초기 표지자로 작용하며, 뇌 및 감각기관의 발달에 관여합니다. 또한 BCD 타겟 서열(BTS) 5'-TCTAATCCC-3'에 결합할 수 있습니다.
OTX2의 결함은 microphthalmia syndromic type 5 (MCOPS5)의 원인이 됩니다.
