Target Information
Anti-human Polynucleotide Kinase (PNK) antibody recognizes PNK, a 57 kDa nuclear enzyme involved in DNA strand repair during replication, recombination, and response to DNA damage.
PNK acts on DNA 5'-hydroxy and 3'-phosphate termini for phosphorylation and dephosphorylation events.
During strand breakage, PNK associates with nuclear proteins to prepare DNA termini for polymerase-beta and ligase III actions, maintaining genetic stability in human cells.
