This antibody has been successfully used in ELISA, Western blot, and immunofluorescence procedures.
The immunogen is whole Toxoplasma gondii lysate.
Target Information
Toxoplasma gondii is a crescent-shaped sporozoan and intracellular parasite found in various vertebrate tissues. It is transmitted via raw or undercooked meat, contaminated soil, or direct contact.
Infection typically occurs in pregnant women or immunocompromised patients, potentially leading to congenital toxoplasmosis causing blindness or mental retardation in newborns.
While often asymptomatic in healthy individuals, severe infections can occur in immunosuppressed patients.
Toxoplasma gondii infects GI tract tissues, and active infection may cause fever and splenomegaly.
