Target Information

This gene encodes one of two cannabinoid receptors. Cannabinoids, including delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol and synthetic analogs, are psychoactive components of marijuana. These receptors belong to the G protein-coupled receptor family and inhibit adenylate cyclase activity in a dose-dependent, stereoselective, and pertussis toxin-sensitive manner. Both receptors are involved in the cannabinoid-induced CNS effects. Multiple transcript variants encoding two different protein isoforms have been described.

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Not for resale without express authorization.
