Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is >95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Target Information
Type I interferons (IFN-alpha and IFN-beta) are structurally and functionally related proteins induced by viruses or double-stranded RNA. They confer antiviral states in cells and compete for binding to a common cell surface receptor. IFN-gamma binds to a distinct receptor (IFN-alphaR), which is weakly responsive to type I interferons. IFN-alpha/betaR binds effectively to IFN-beta and several IFN-alpha subtypes. IFN-alpha/betaR is expressed as two alternatively spliced transcripts, IFN-alpha/betaR1 and IFN-alpha/betaR2, both involved in signal transduction and ligand binding.
