Target Information
CD23 is a 45 kDa glycoprotein expressed on a subset of peripheral blood and tonsil B cells and strongly on EBV-transformed B lymphoblasts. It functions as the low-affinity IgE receptor on B cells and is involved in B cell growth, differentiation, and IgE production. Soluble CD23 acts as a potent mitogenic factor. Abnormal CD23 expression is associated with chronic conjunctivitis and chronic lymphocytic leukemia.
