Product Specific Information

This antibody is specific for CD20, which is expressed by normal and malignant B cells. It does not cross-react with murine CD20.

Target Information

CD20 is a non-glycosylated surface phosphoprotein (33–37 kDa) expressed on mature and most malignant B cells, as well as a subpopulation of T lymphocytes and follicular dendritic cells. CD20 expression coincides with surface IgM and regulates calcium conductance, cell cycle progression, and B-cell proliferation. It associates with lipid rafts, with association intensity influenced by extracellular triggers and BCR aggregation. Upon receptor ligation, CD20 colocalizes with BCR and remains at the cell surface after BCR endocytosis. CD20 is a key target for antibody-mediated B-cell depletion therapy, as it is highly expressed on B-cell malignancies and remains membrane-bound following treatment. Diseases associated with CD20 dysfunction include Ms4a1-related common variable immune deficiency.
