This antibody detects endogenous levels of total FAM89B protein.
Target Information
FAM89B negatively regulates TGF-beta-induced signaling. In cooperation with SKI, it prevents SMAD2 translocation from nucleus to cytoplasm in response to TGF-beta. Acts as an adapter mediating LIMK1 recognition by CDC42BPA and CDC42BPB in lamellipodia. LRAP25-mediated targeting of CDC42BPA/CDC42BPB to LIMK1 leads to LIMK1 activation and subsequent phosphorylation of CFL1, which is crucial for lamellipodial F-actin regulation. [UniProt]
