This antibody detects endogenous levels of total FASTKD3 protein.

Target Information

The FASTKD3 gene encodes a member of the small family of Fas-activated serine/threonine kinase domain (FASTKD) containing proteins. These proteins share an N-terminal mitochondrial targeting domain, multiple C-terminal FAST domains, and a putative RNA-binding RAP domain. They are ubiquitously expressed and are most abundant in mitochondria-rich tissues such as heart, skeletal muscle, and brown adipose tissue. Some family members may play a role in apoptosis. The encoded protein interacts with components of the mitochondrial respiratory and translation networks. A pseudogene is present on chromosome 5, and alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
