Target Information
ULK2 (also known as ATG1B) is a serine/threonine protein kinase that acts at the upstream step of autophagosome formation.
Knockout of ULK2 leads to severe autophagy defects. ULK2 is highly conserved among eukaryotes and shares high homology with ULK1.
ULK1 and ULK2 form a complex with ATG13 and FIP200, mediating TOR signaling essential for autophagy.
ULK2 is also implicated in early neuronal growth and differentiation.
