Product Specific Information

The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum using an epitope-specific immunogen. Purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.


Target Information

COMMD1 is a proposed scaffold protein involved in diverse physiological processes, particularly in regulating ubiquitination of cellular proteins. It modulates the activity of cullin-RING E3 ubiquitin ligase (CRL) complexes by displacing CAND1, promoting CRL E3 activity, and facilitating ubiquitination of NF-κB subunit RELA, leading to its proteasomal degradation and down-regulation of NF-κB activity.

COMMD1 also regulates:

  • Membrane expression and ubiquitination of SLC12A2
  • Sodium transport in epithelial cells via ENaC subunit regulation
  • CFTR surface expression through ubiquitination control
  • SOD1 activity by interfering with homodimerization
  • Copper ion homeostasis and ATP7A trafficking
  • HIF1A-mediated transcription through competitive binding with ARNT/HIF-1β

COMMD1 binds one copper ion per monomer and may facilitate biliary copper excretion within hepatocytes. It also interacts with phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate (PtdIns(4,5)P2).
