Target Information
NOTCH3는 Drosophila melanogaster의 type I 막 단백질 Notch와 상동성을 가지는 세 번째 인간 유전자입니다. Drosophila에서 Notch는 세포 결합 리간드인 Delta 및 Serrate와 상호작용하여 신경 발달에 중요한 역할을 하는 세포 간 신호 전달 경로를 형성합니다. 인간에서도 이러한 리간드의 상동체가 확인되었으며, NOTCH3는 Jagged1, Jagged2, Delta1과 같은 막 결합 리간드의 수용체로 작용하여 세포 운명 결정에 관여합니다. NOTCH3의 돌연변이는 CADASIL(cerebral autosomal dominant arteriopathy with subcortical infarcts and leukoencephalopathy)의 원인으로 알려져 있습니다.
