Product Specific Information
This product is preservative-free. It is recommended to add sodium azide to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05%–0.1%).
Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits are cloned, and individual clones are screened to select optimal candidates for production.
Advantages include:
- Better specificity and sensitivity
- Lot-to-lot consistency
- Animal origin-free formulations
- Broader immunoreactivity due to larger rabbit immune repertoire
This antibody has specificity for Human KITLG/SCF/C-kit ligand.
Target Information
Stem cell factor (SCF) is the ligand of the c-Kit oncogene and is expressed by various structural and inflammatory cells in the airways. Binding of SCF to the c-Kit receptor induces receptor homodimerization and activates signaling pathways including PI-3, PLC-gamma, Jak/STAT, and MAP kinase.
SCF expression promotes mast cell survival and the release of histamine, pro-inflammatory cytokines, and chemokines.
Inhibition of the SCF/c-Kit pathway reduces histamine levels, mast cell and eosinophil infiltration, IL-4 production, and airway hyperresponsiveness—suggesting potential therapeutic relevance in inflammatory diseases such as asthma.
At least two isoforms of SCF are known to exist.
For Research Use Only.
Not for use in diagnostic procedures.
Not for resale without express authorization.
