Target Information
The IL1R2 gene encodes a cytokine receptor belonging to the interleukin 1 receptor family. This protein binds IL1A, IL1B, and IL1R1/IL1RA, acting as a decoy receptor that inhibits ligand activity. IL4 can antagonize IL1 activity by inducing IL1R2 expression and release. The gene forms part of a cytokine receptor cluster on chromosome 2q12, with two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein.
