Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
Synaptophysin is a calcium-binding integral membrane glycoprotein located in presynaptic vesicles of nearly all neurons. It has four transmembrane domains and forms a complex with dynamin at high calcium concentrations, indicating a role in synaptic vesicle endocytosis. Synaptophysin is involved in short-term and long-term synaptic plasticity and serves as a marker for nerve terminals and neuroendocrine tumor differentiation. Mutations in the gene may lead to X-linked mental retardation.
