Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the PP2C family of Ser/Thr protein phosphatases, known as negative regulators of cell stress response pathways. It dephosphorylates cyclin-dependent kinases (CDKs) and may play a role in cell cycle control. Overexpression can lead to cell growth arrest or cell death. Multiple transcript variants exist due to alternative splicing, though not all represent full-length sequences.
