Target Information
Ribosomes are organelles that catalyze protein synthesis, composed of a small 40S subunit and a large 60S subunit. These subunits include 4 RNA species and approximately 80 distinct proteins.
The RPL26 gene encodes a ribosomal protein that is part of the 60S subunit and belongs to the L24P family. It is located in the cytoplasm.
As typical for ribosomal protein genes, multiple processed pseudogenes are dispersed throughout the genome.
