Target Information
CHEK2 (CHK2) is a serine/threonine kinase involved in the DNA damage checkpoint pathway. Mutations in CHK2 are linked to various cancers. CHK2 is activated by DNA damage and phosphorylates tumor suppressor proteins such as BRCA1, aiding cell survival after damage. It is considered a tumor suppressor, with mutations associated with Li-Fraumeni syndrome, sarcomas, breast cancer, and brain tumors.
