This product is preservative-free. It is recommended to add sodium azide (final concentration 0.05%–0.1%) to prevent contamination.

Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits are cloned and screened to select optimal clones for production.

Target Information

The cystatin superfamily comprises cysteine protease inhibitors.

• Type 1 cystatins (A, B): Mainly intracellular
• Type 2 cystatins (C, D, E/M, F, G, S, SN, SA): Extracellular
• Type 3 cystatins (Kininogens): Intravascular proteins

All cystatins inhibit cysteine peptidases of the papain family (e.g., cathepsins) and some inhibit legumain family enzymes.
Cystatin SA, S, and SN are primarily found in saliva; S and SN are also expressed in tears, urine, and seminal fluid.
Cystatin C is expressed in brain, thymus, ovary, epididymis, and vas deferens.
Cystatin D protects against oral cavity proteinases, while Cystatin E/M and F moderate cathepsin inhibition.
Fetuins, part of the cystatin superfamily, influence osteogenesis, bone resorption, insulin and hepatocyte growth factor receptor regulation, and systemic inflammation response.
High and low molecular weight kininogens inhibit thrombin- and plasmin-induced thrombocyte aggregation.
