Product Specific Information
The HIB19 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD19, a 95 kDa transmembrane glycoprotein expressed by B cells throughout development except plasma cells. Follicular dendritic cells also express CD19. CD19 forms a complex with CD21, CD81, Leu13, and MHC class II, associating with BCR to mediate signaling through tyrosine phosphorylation, calcium flux, and proliferation of B cells.
Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Pre-diluted and tested on normal human peripheral blood cells at 5 µL (0.25 µg) per test.
Brilliant Violet™ 480 emits at 479 nm and is suitable for cytometers with a violet (405 nm) laser.
When using multiple polymer dye-conjugated antibodies, use Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer (SB-4401-42) or Brilliant Stain Buffer™ (00-4409-75) to minimize non-specific interactions.
Not compatible with methanol-based fixation.

Target Information
CD19 is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily with two Ig-like domains, expressed on all peripheral B cells. It is also found on certain myeloid leukemia cells. CD19 regulates B cell proliferation and is expressed in all B cell precursor leukemias. It functions as a signal-amplifying coreceptor for the B cell receptor (BCR) and is a central regulatory component in B cell signaling. Mutations cause hypogammaglobulinemia, while overexpression leads to B cell hyperactivity.
