PIKFYVE는 PtdIns(3,5)P2를 생성하는 삼분자 복합체의 구성 요소이며, VAC14(활성화 인자) 및 FIG4(인산화 효소)와 함께 PtdIns(3,5)P2 수준을 정밀하게 조절합니다. 또한 PIKFYVE는 phosphoinositide 5-kinase 활성 외에도 protein kinase 활성을 가지고 있습니다.
