Target Information
MET (c-Met) is a receptor-like tyrosine kinase whose dysregulation has been linked to many types of human malignancies.
After activation of its ligand, MET interacts with PI3-kinase subunit PIK3R1, PLCG1, SRC, GRB2, and STAT3, leading to activation of signaling cascades including RAS-ERK, PI3K-AKT, and PLCγ-PKC pathways.
MET plays a critical role in embryonic development (gastrulation, muscle and neuron development, angiogenesis, kidney formation) and in adults (wound healing, organ regeneration, tissue remodeling).
Aberrant MET signaling is associated with cancers such as gastric, renal, and breast cancer, making it a target for cancer therapeutics and diagnostics.
