Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is >95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Target Information
The SIX proteins (sine oculis) are a family of homeodomain transcription factors sharing a conserved DNA binding domain. Six3 and Six6 (also known as Optx2 and Six9) are required for eye field specification and proliferation in vertebrates, functioning as homologues of the Drosophila sine oculis protein, which controls compound eye development. Six3 and Six6 expression overlap in tissues such as retina, hypothalamus, and pituitary. Deletion of Six3 may be associated with HPE2 disorder, a severe brain malformation resulting from incomplete forebrain cleavage during embryogenesis.
