Target Information
The modification of proteins with ubiquitin is a key cellular mechanism for degrading abnormal or short-lived proteins. Ubiquitination involves three enzyme classes:
- E1: Ubiquitin-activating enzymes
- E2: Ubiquitin-conjugating enzymes
- E3: Ubiquitin-protein ligases
UBE2L3 is a member of the E2 enzyme family and participates in the ubiquitination of p53, c-Fos, and the NF-kB precursor p105 in vitro.
