APPL1 유전자가 암호화하는 단백질은 세포 증식 조절 및 아디포넥틴 신호전달과 인슐린 신호전달 경로 간의 상호작용에 관여합니다.
이 단백질은 RAB5A, DCC, AKT2, PIK3CA, 아디포넥틴 수용체 및 NuRD/MeCP1 복합체의 단백질 등 여러 단백질과 결합합니다.
주로 엔도좀 막과 연관되어 있으나, EGF에 의해 방출되어 핵으로 이동할 수 있습니다.
