Reconstitution: Add 50 µL of double-distilled water (DDW), depending on sample size.
The antibody ships as a lyophilized powder at room temperature. Upon arrival, store at -20°C.
Reconstituted solution can be stored at 4°C for up to 1 week. For longer storage, aliquot and store at -20°C.
Avoid multiple freeze/thaw cycles. Centrifuge all antibody preparations before use (10,000 × g, 5 min).

Target Information

SERT (Serotonin Transporter) is an integral membrane protein responsible for transporting serotonin from synaptic spaces into presynaptic neurons.
It terminates serotonin action and recycles it in a sodium-dependent manner.
SERT is a known target of psychomotor stimulants such as amphetamines and cocaine and belongs to the sodium:neurotransmitter symporter family.
Polymorphisms in its promoter region have been associated with serotonin uptake rates and may influence conditions such as sudden infant death syndrome, aggressive behavior in Alzheimer’s disease, and susceptibility to depression under emotional stress.
