Reconstitution: Add 50 µL double distilled water (DDW), depending on sample size.
Ships lyophilized at room temperature. Upon arrival, store at -20°C.
Reconstituted solution can be stored at 4°C, protected from light, for up to 1 week.
For longer storage, aliquot and keep at -20°C. Avoid multiple freeze/thaw cycles.
Centrifuge all antibody preparations before use (10,000 × g, 5 min).

Target Information

Serotonin Transporter (SERT) is an integral membrane protein that transports serotonin from synaptic spaces into presynaptic neurons. It terminates serotonin action and recycles it in a sodium-dependent manner.
SERT is targeted by psychomotor stimulants such as amphetamines and cocaine and belongs to the sodium:neurotransmitter symporter family.
Polymorphisms in its promoter region may influence serotonin uptake rate and have been associated with sudden infant death syndrome, aggressive behavior in Alzheimer’s disease, and depression susceptibility under emotional trauma.
