Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene is a nuclear hormone receptor for triiodothyronine (thyroid hormone). It mediates the biological activities of thyroid hormone and exhibits functional diversity among receptor isoforms. Knockout studies in mice suggest partial redundancy with distinct physiological roles. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been reported.
