Target Information
Beta-2-microglobulin (B2M)은 12–14 kDa 크기의 단백질로, 주요조직적합복합체(MHC) class I의 서브유닛입니다. HLA Class I 항원과 결합된 형태로 다양한 세포(림프구, 흉선세포, 단핵구, 과립구, 혈소판, 내피세포, 상피세포 등)에서 발현되며, 적혈구에는 존재하지 않습니다. 또한 혈장 내 자유형으로도 존재합니다.
이 단백질은 면역글로불린의 일정 영역과 상동성이 있으며, 주로 β-병풍 구조를 가집니다. 세포질 내에서 항원 처리 및 제시에 관여하며, TCR 신호전달 및 미성숙 CD8+ 세포의 하위 신호전달에도 역할을 합니다.
B2M 유전자는 염색체 15번에 위치하며, 해당 유전자의 돌연변이는 고대사성 저단백혈증을 유발할 수 있습니다. 또한 혈중 beta-2 microglobulin 농도는 신장이식 환자의 신기능 평가 및 HIV 감염의 예후 지표로 활용될 수 있습니다.
