Product Specific Information
- For immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature.
- Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 min at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 min.
Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the S100 family, containing two EF-hand calcium-binding motifs. S100 proteins are localized in the cytoplasm and/or nucleus of various cells and are involved in regulating cellular processes such as cell cycle progression and differentiation.
S100 genes include at least 13 members clustered on chromosome 1q21, while this gene is located on 4p16.
In addition to binding Ca²⁺, this protein also binds Zn²⁺ and Mg²⁺ and may play a role in the etiology of prostate cancer.
