Description:
The MEM-15 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD14, a 53–55 kDa GPI-linked glycoprotein expressed on monocytes, interfollicular macrophages, and some dendritic cells. Complexes of LPS and LBP bind with high affinity to monocytes through surface CD14.
Each product contains:
- 1 vial of NovaFluor conjugate
- 1 vial of CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer
Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Pre-diluted and tested by flow cytometric analysis of normal human peripheral blood cells. Recommended usage: 5 µL (1.0 µg) per test (100 µL final volume). Suitable for 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test.
Important Notes:
- NovaFluor dyes are not compatible with DNA intercalating viability dyes (e.g., propidium iodide, 7-AAD, DAPI).
- Use Invitrogen LIVE/DEAD Fixable Dead Cell stains for viability assays.
- Use CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer (Cat. No. C001T06F01) for optimal staining with NovaFluor conjugates.
- Add 5 µL per sample to antibody cocktails/master mixes before combining with cells.
- For single-color controls, use 5 µL of CellBlox Blocking Buffer per 100 µL cell sample (10³–10⁸ cells).

NovaFluor conjugates utilize Phiton™ technology based on novel nucleic acid dye structures, engineered for optimal fluorescent signatures with minimized spillover and spread.

Target Information
CD14 is a 55 kDa GPI-anchored glycoprotein constitutively expressed on mature monocytes, macrophages, and neutrophils. It functions as a multifunctional lipopolysaccharide receptor and exists in both membrane-bound and soluble forms. CD14 binds LPS via LBP and participates in immune responses, including recognition of apoptotic cells and modulation of allergic, inflammatory, and infectious processes.
Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding the same isoform.
Diseases associated with CD14 dysfunction include Mycobacterium chelonae infection and croup.
