Product Specific Information
- Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature (RT).
- Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 min at 95°C, followed by cooling at RT for 20 min.
Target Information
The PAX8 gene encodes a member of the paired box family of transcription factors. These proteins contain a paired box domain, an octapeptide, and a paired-type homeodomain.
This nuclear protein is involved in thyroid follicular cell development and regulation of thyroid-specific gene expression.
Mutations in PAX8 are associated with thyroid dysgenesis, follicular carcinomas, and atypical follicular thyroid adenomas.
Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described.
