EGFR은 막관통형 수용체로, EGF나 TGF-α 등의 리간드 결합 시 이량체화 및 세포질 도메인 내 티로신 잔기의 자가 인산화를 유도합니다. 이러한 과발현은 두경부암, 뇌종양, 방광암, 위암, 유방암, 폐암, 자궁내막암, 자궁경부암 등 다양한 암종에서 관찰됩니다.
