Target Information
The GTSE1 (G2 and S phase expressed 1) protein is expressed specifically during the S and G2 phases of the cell cycle. It colocalizes with cytoplasmic tubulin and microtubules. Upon DNA damage, GTSE1 accumulates in the nucleus where it binds to the tumor suppressor protein p53, exporting it from the nucleus and repressing its apoptotic activity.
