• ABS 062-14-02 binds human NGAL coated onto a solid phase.
• Can be used as a detection antibody in sandwich ELISA with capture antibodies HYB 211-01-02, ABS 038-04-02, ABS 038-14-02, ABS 038-15-02, ABS 038-23-02, ABS 038-26-02, and ABS 062-33-02.
• When biotinylated and paired with capture antibody ABS 062-33-02, the assay is specific for NGAL monomer with less than 1% cross-reactivity to NGAL homodimer.
• Concentration may vary between 0.85–1.15 mg/mL depending on lot.

Target Information

NGAL (Neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin, also known as lipocalin 2, siderocalin, and neutrophil lipocalin) is a 25 kDa glycosylated single-chain monomer belonging to the lipocalin family, which binds and transports small lipophilic molecules. NGAL is released by activated neutrophils, can form dimers or higher oligomers, and complexes with matrix metalloproteinase 9 (MMP-9, gelatinase B).
Low-level expression of NGAL occurs in various epithelia and increases in inflammation or cancer. Expression in the kidney is dramatically elevated following ischemic or nephrotoxic injury.
