Product Specific Information
- Specificity: ABS 051-04-02 binds human PYY (3-36). No cross-reactivity with PYY (1-36) from mouse, rat, dog, or pig.
- Reactivity: Binds free PYY (3-36) in solution.
- Recommended ELISA dilution: 1:20,000 for PYY (3-36) coated directly at 1 µg/mL.
- Can be used as a capture antibody in sandwich ELISA with biotinylated detection antibody ABS 029-01-02.
Target Information
Peptide tyrosine-tyrosine amide (3-36), or PYY (3-36), is a major metabolite of the gut hormone PYY. It is produced by the action of dipeptidyl peptidase IV in the intestinal brush border and circulation. PYY (3-36) inhibits food intake in rats and humans by acting on the Y2 receptor to suppress orexigenic NPY neurons and activate anorexigenic POMC neurons. Its effect is additive with GLP-1.
