Product Specific Information
This antibody is predicted to react with xenopus, bovine, chicken, rat, zebrafish, and mouse based on 100% sequence homology.
Suggested positive control: antigen standard for DERL1 (transient overexpression lysate), KRM (canine microsome) lysates.
Target Information
Functional component of endoplasmic reticulum-associated degradation (ERAD) for misfolded lumenal proteins. May act by forming a channel that allows retrotranslocation of misfolded proteins into the cytosol where they are ubiquitinated and degraded by the proteasome.
May mediate the interaction between VCP and the degradation substrate.
In cytomegalovirus infection, it plays a central role in the export from the ER and subsequent degradation of MHC class I heavy chains via interaction with US11 viral protein.
Also participates in degradation of misfolded cytomegalovirus US2 protein.
