ABCC11은 ATP-binding cassette (ABC) 수송체 초과가족의 구성원으로, 세포 내외막을 통한 다양한 분자의 수송에 관여합니다. ABC 유전자는 ABC1, MDR/TAP, MRP, ALD, OABP, GCN20, White의 7개 하위 계열로 구분됩니다.
이 단백질은 다약제 내성과 관련된 MRP 하위 계열에 속하며, 담즙산, 결합 스테로이드, 순환 뉴클레오타이드의 생리적 과정에 참여합니다. 또한, 이 유전자의 SNP는 인간의 귀지 유형을 결정하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다.
ABCC11과 ABCC12는 복제에 의해 유래된 것으로, 모두 염색체 16q12.1에 위치합니다. 이 유전자는 여러 가지 대체 스플라이싱 전사체 변이를 가지고 있습니다.
