Target Information
E-Cadherin (epithelial cadherin)은 칼슘 의존적 세포-세포 접착을 담당하는 glycoprotein으로, cadherin 슈퍼패밀리에 속합니다. 이 단백질은 5개의 extracellular cadherin 반복 부위, transmembrane 영역, 그리고 highly conserved cytoplasmic tail로 구성되어 있습니다.
CDH1 유전자의 돌연변이는 위암, 유방암, 대장암, 갑상선암 및 난소암과 연관되어 있으며, E-cadherin 발현의 감소 또는 소실은 암의 침습성과 전이 가능성 증가와 관련이 있습니다.
E-cadherin은 세포 성장과 조직 구조 유지에 핵심적인 역할을 하며, 인간에서는 염색체 16에 위치한 CDH1 유전자에 의해 발현됩니다.
