Product Specific Information
This antibody is predicted to react with Monkey, Bovine, Cat, and Pig.
Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems by cloning specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select optimal candidates for production.
Advantages of recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies:
- High specificity and sensitivity
- Lot-to-lot consistency
- Animal origin-free formulations
- Broader immunoreactivity due to larger rabbit immune repertoire
Target Information
Beta-catenin is an adherens junction (AJ) protein crucial for cell-cell adhesion and epithelial layer maintenance. It interacts with E-cadherin, alpha-catenin, and the actin cytoskeleton, playing roles in cell growth regulation and morphogenesis.
Beta-catenin also participates in signaling pathways involving tyrosine kinases, phosphatases, and Wnt/Wingless, influencing morphogenesis and tumorigenesis. It is expressed in various hair follicle cell types and epithelial tissues.
Pathological roles have been identified in:
- Pilomatrixoma (PTR)
- Medulloblastoma (MDB)
- Colorectal cancer (CRC)
- Ovarian cancer
- Other solid tumors (breast, colon, liver, lung, gastric, prostate, skin)
In the nucleus, beta-catenin co-activates Lef/Tcf transcription factors, promoting transcription of genes such as cyclin D and c-myc that drive cell proliferation.
