Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (e.g., Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

Aldh3A1 belongs to the aldehyde dehydrogenase superfamily, a group of NAD(P)(+)-dependent enzymes that catalyze the oxidation of a wide range of aldehydes.
It is highly expressed in the stomach and cornea, where it can represent up to 50% of the water-soluble protein fraction.
Aldh3A1 protects the cornea from UV-induced oxidative stress through detoxification of reactive aldehydes and absorption of UV energy.
Although Aldh3A1-deficient mice show no corneal abnormalities, double knockout mice (Aldh3A1 and Aldh1A1) exhibit increased cataract formation after UVB exposure, suggesting compensatory roles between these enzymes.
