Product Specific Information
The antibody reacts with mouse lymphotoxin-beta receptor (LTBR). Northern blot analysis of adult mouse tissues showed LTBR mRNA expression strong in lung, liver, and kidney; moderate in heart and testes; weak in brain, thymus, spleen, and lymph nodes.
LTBR is the human receptor for the heterotrimer of lymphotoxin-alpha and lymphotoxin-beta (LTα1/β2). This complex participates in immunologic reactions via cell-cell contact but does not bind TNFR1 (CD120α) or TNFR2 (CD120β).
LTBR expression is detected by day 7 embryos, suggesting a role in early embryogenesis.
Applications Reported: The eBio3C8 (3C8) antibody is reported for use in flow cytometric analysis and has agonistic activity via activation of NF-κB.
Applications Tested: Tested by flow cytometric analysis of NIH/3T3 cells. Recommended ≤0.5 µg per test (100 µL final volume). Cell number may range from 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test. Antibody titration recommended for optimal performance.
Storage and Handling: Use in a sterile environment.
Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.
Purity: >90%, determined by SDS-PAGE.
Endotoxin Level: <0.001 ng/µg antibody (LAL assay).
Aggregation: <10%, determined by HPLC.
Target Information
The LTBR protein is a member of the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) receptor family. It is expressed on most cell types, including epithelial and myeloid cells, but not on T or B lymphocytes. LTBR binds the membrane form of lymphotoxin (a complex of LTα and LTβ). This receptor-ligand interaction contributes to lymphoid tissue development and organization. Activation of LTBR can trigger apoptosis.
