ERBB2(neu/HER2) 온코진은 유방암 환자의 치료 반응과 예후를 예측하는 중요한 지표로 알려져 있다. C35 (C17orf37)는 유방암에서 풍부하게 발현되는 새로운 종양 바이오마커로, 광범위한 치료제 개발에 유용한 공동 종양 특이적 표적이다. C35 유전자는 ERBB2 온코진의 3’ 말단으로부터 505 뉴클레오타이드 떨어진 염색체 17q12에 위치하며, 두 유전자는 tail-to-tail 구조로 배열되어 있다. ORF 37은 기능이 알려지지 않은 12 kDa 단백질을 암호화한다.
