Target Information

Ebola virus is an enveloped, negative-stranded RNA virus belonging to the family Filoviridae.
It has a distinctive morphology similar to that of Marburg virus but lacks antigenic similarity.
Its genome is a nonsegmented RNA strand encoding seven structural proteins:

• NP (104 K)
• GP (125 K)
• L protein (180 K)
• VP40 (40 K)
• ViPX (35 K)
• VP30 (30 K)
• VP24 (24 K)

GP is the major surface glycoprotein forming viral spikes and is the only glycosylated viral protein.
