ATP6V1C2는 진핵세포 내 소기관의 산성화를 매개하는 복합 효소인 V-ATPase의 구성 요소를 암호화합니다.
V-ATPase에 의한 산성화는 단백질 분류, 효소 전구체 활성화, 수용체 매개 엔도사이토시스, 시냅스 소포의 양성자 구배 형성 등 다양한 세포 내 과정에 필수적입니다.
V-ATPase는 세포질성 V1 도메인과 막관통성 V0 도메인으로 구성되며, V1 도메인은 ATP 촉매 부위를 포함합니다.
이 유전자는 서로 다른 V1 도메인 C 소단위체 이소폼을 암호화하는 전사적 스플라이스 변이체를 생성합니다.
