This antibody has specificity for Human EIF5A.
Target Information
EIF5A is an mRNA-binding protein involved in translation elongation. It plays a role in mRNA turnover, actin dynamics, and cell cycle progression. Additionally, EIF5A regulates TNF-alpha-mediated apoptosis and TP53/p53-dependent apoptosis.
It mediates polyamine effects on neuronal process extension and survival, contributing to brain development and skeletal muscle stem cell differentiation. EIF5A also acts as a cellular cofactor for HTLV-1 Rex and HIV-1 Rev proteins, essential for mRNA export of retroviral transcripts.
