This affinity purified antibody is directed against the FLAG epitope tag and is used to detect its presence in overexpressed proteins in various assays. It recognizes the FLAG tag (Asp-Tyr-Lys-Asp-Asp-Asp-Asp-Lys) fused to either the N- or C-terminus of target proteins in transfected or transformed cells.

Target Information

The DYKDDDDK tag (FLAG tag) is a short peptide sequence (Asp-Tyr-Lys-Asp-Asp-Asp-Asp-Lys) widely used as a protein tag to facilitate protein purification, detection, and localization.
It can be fused to the N- or C-terminus of a protein, enabling easy identification and isolation using anti-FLAG antibodies.
The FLAG tag is hydrophilic, minimizing interference with protein folding or activity, and is used extensively in molecular biology and biochemistry research for:
