IMPA1 (Myo-inositol monophosphatase 1)는 인지질 및 폴리포스포이노시타이드 합성에 필요한 이노시톨 생성을 담당합니다.
IMPA1은 호모다이머 형태로 존재하며, 뇌에서 리튬 작용의 약리학적 표적입니다.
이 효소는 포스파티딜이노시톨 신호전달 경로의 주요 효소로, 이노시톨 모노포스파타제 가수분해 억제가 리튬의 항조증 및 항우울 작용과 관련이 있을 수 있습니다.
연구 결과, IMPA1 유전자의 277번째 코돈 부위 변이는 조울증 환자에서 관찰되지 않았으며, 비암호화 영역의 다형성이나 돌연변이가 리튬 반응에 영향을 미칠 가능성이 제시되었습니다.
