Product Specific Information
This product is preservative-free. It is recommended to add sodium azide (final concentration 0.05%–0.1%) to prevent contamination.
Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. Antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits are cloned and screened to select optimal candidates for production.
Advantages of recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies:
- Enhanced specificity and sensitivity
- Lot-to-lot consistency
- Animal origin-free formulations
- Broader immunoreactivity due to larger rabbit immune repertoire
This antibody specifically recognizes Rat HGF/Hepatocyte Growth Factor.
Target Information
Hepatocyte Growth Factor (HGF) regulates cell growth, motility, and morphogenesis through activation of a tyrosine kinase signaling cascade upon binding to the c-Met receptor. Secreted by mesenchymal cells, HGF acts as a multifunctional cytokine on epithelial cells, contributing to angiogenesis, tumorogenesis, and tissue regeneration.
It is secreted as an inactive single-chain polypeptide and cleaved into a 69 kDa alpha-chain and 34 kDa beta-chain, forming an active heterodimer via a disulfide bond.
HGF belongs to the plasminogen subfamily of S1 peptidases but lacks protease activity. Alternative splicing generates multiple isoforms.
