Product Specific Information

Mouse anti-Bovine CD86 antibody, clone IL-A190 recognizes the bovine CD86 cell surface antigen, which is expressed by dendritic cells, activated macrophages, and activated B cells.
Reconstitute with 1 mL distilled water.

Target Information

CD86 is one of two ligands (the other being CD80) for CTLA4 and CD28. It acts as a costimulatory molecule in eliciting T-cell help during antigen presentation.
Antigen presentation without sufficient co-stimulation involving CD86/CD80 can induce tolerance. CD86 is a type I membrane protein belonging to the immunoglobulin superfamily and is expressed by antigen-presenting cells.
It binds to CD28 and cytotoxic T-lymphocyte-associated protein 4 (CTLA4) on T cells. The interaction with CD28 provides a costimulatory signal for T-cell activation, while binding to CTLA4 negatively regulates T-cell activation and diminishes the immune response.
Alternative splicing results in two transcript variants encoding different isoforms of CD86. Additional variants have been described but not fully characterized.
Diseases associated with CD86 dysfunction include gallbladder squamous cell carcinoma and myocarditis.

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Not for resale without express authorization.
